We navigate narrow alleyways filled with historic street art and local workshops before emerging into the vibrant atmosphere of Yaowarat, Bangkokās Chinatown.
- Evening in Chinatown: Experience the energy of Yaowarat Road as the evening food stalls fire up their woks.
- Crossing the river: We take a local ferry from Ratchawong Pier and enjoy a refreshing crossing of the Chao Phraya River.
Thonburiās Hidden Flavors and Skyline Views
After stepping off the ferry, the pace slows as we make our way to Tha Din Daeng Market, a popular destination for local food lovers.
- A taste of Thailand: We pause for an authentic Thai delicacy, such as the famous pork satay or a seasonal Thai dessert from one of the local vendors.
- Chao Phraya Sky Park: We cycle toward the Chao Phraya Sky Park. If the timing is right, we head up to watch the sun set behind the spires of Wat Arun.
Temples, Traditions, and a Local Dinner
We continue through the historic Kudeejeen neighborhood, passing the 18th-century Santa Cruz Church and the towering Buddha at Wat Kalayanamit.
- Authentic dining: We enjoy a sit-down dinner at a local restaurant known for its traditional recipes and welcoming atmosphere.
Royal Landmarks and the Flower Market at Night
After dinner, we cross back to the Bangkok side from Tha Wang Lang Pier.
- Bangkokās royal landmarks: We cycle alongside Sanam Luang, with views of the illuminated Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
- Pak Khlong Talat Flower Market: Experience the colors and fragrances of Bangkokās famous 24-hour flower market.
