Chiang Mai Sunset Foodie Ride: The Ultimate Chiang Mai Food Tour

As the name suggests, our Chiang Mai Food Tour is all about cycling and stimulating your taste buds. Chiang Mai offers a huge selection of traditional Thai delicacies, making it the perfect culinary destination. We begin our ride in the late afternoon at 16:30, as the sun begins to set.

We cycle through Chiang Mai’s backstreets and hidden alleyways to discover street-side stalls and vibrant food markets. During this journey, you will sample authentic Northern Thai “Muang” food, as well as unique Shan and Tai Yai delicacies.

Temples and Appetizers at Sunset

Our first stop offers an introduction to local home-cooked food. You will be surprised by the freshness and enormous variety available at this local market. Here, we enjoy a small snack and fresh fruit to prepare your palate for the evening ahead.

Before continuing toward the city center, we visit the beautiful Silver Temple complex. Your guide will explain the history and culture of the region as the temple begins to glow in the twilight. Afterward, we ride through small alleyways to reach the North Gate Market. This is a popular evening spot where locals enjoy barbecued pork or chicken.

The “City’s Belly Button” and Night Markets

After our appetizers, we cycle to Wat Inthakhin, also known as the “Navel of the City.” This temple marks the original center of Chiang Mai. We spend a few minutes admiring the 700-year-old White Buddha while listening to the monks chanting.

Next, we ride past the Three Kings Monument to reach the largest fresh market in Chiang Mai. Here, you will learn the secrets of Northern Thai cuisine.
